Costas Philippou was expected to take on Uriah Hall on the main card at UFC Fight Night 59, but he has been forced out of action due to a rib injury.

The UFC has yet to announce the injury, but will likely look for a replacement to face Hall.

Philippou (13-4, 1NC) is coming off a giant knockout victory over Lorenz Larkin at UFC Fight Night 40 this past May. This victory brought Philippou back into the win column, as he was previously riding a two-fight losing streak.

Hall (9-4) snapped a two-fight losing skid and his now on a two-fight winning streak, with victories over Chris Leben and most recently Thiago Santos.

UFC Fight Night 59 goes down on January 18 from the TD Arena in Boston, Mass. Headlining the card is a featherweight showdown between Conor McGregor and Dennis Siver.
