Dan Hooker Talks New Tattoos: ‘It’s A Bit Addictive’

Dan Hooker is going through a makeover.

It’s been a while since we last saw the #10 ranked UFC lightweight in action. In his last bout, Hooker defeated fellow contender Jalin Turner in a bloody battle at UFC 285. Later that year, he’d withdraw from fighting Bobby Green at UFC Austin due to injury.

On the road to recovery is where Hooker would get absolutely hooked on tattoos. Over the last few months, ‘Hangman’ has taken his tattoo game to a whole new level, getting ink on both of his arms, chest, and stomach as well.

Hooker can’t seem to get enough of his new hobby.

“I just had to get it to a point where it looks like how I wanted it to look,” Hooker told The Mac Life. “I was never just gonna get one tattoo and then [dip]. It’s art, man. It’s a piece of art. So, you gotta have a look like the picture. Everyone can see the picture, I  can see where it’s going.”

The UFC veteran explains why he’s going all-out when it comes to ink.

“I’m an all or nothing guy if you haven’t noticed,” Hooker added. “It pisses you off when you get like, ‘I got 1 leg done’ and I was like, ‘that looks stupid’— I have to obviously do the next one. Then, do my arm and I was like, well, obviously I have to do my other arm. Then, I needed something in the middle, and I needed something at the top, so I needed something at the bottom… everything has to be symmetrical about it. That’s obviously not finished, though it’s not perfectly symmetrical the way that I want it. But, you can see where it’s going.

“It’s definitely like, a bit addictive,” Hooker continued on about tattoos. “The whole process of it, it’s like a little bit addictive. You can see why people don’t get that many that close together because they do tickle a bit. A lot of people just get one and they quit.”

We’ll see just how tatted Dan Hooker is in his next UFC fight.
