Dana White’s Contender Series 39 Results

Week three of Dana White’s Contender Series has arrived with the biggest card of the season with six fights as MMASucka provides Contender Series 39 Results. At the end of the night, at least one fighter will emerge with a new UFC contract if they can impress UFC president Dana White.

Dana White’s Contender Series 39 Results – Main Event

In week three’s main event, light heavyweight fighters Jailton Almeida and Nasrudin Nasrudinov face off. Entering the fight, Almeida has won his last eight in a row, finishing all eight of those wins. In the last four of those wins, Almeida finished three of them by submission while the other came by first round TKO. His most recent outing was earlier this year at Thunder Fight 24 when he submitted Edvaldo de Oliveira. He will look to win his ninth straight fight with a win over Nasrudinov that would put his record at 14-2.

As for Nasrudinov, he enters the fight with an undefeated record of 9-0 as he looks to win his tenth pro fight. In his last four fights with ACA, he picked up three second round or later TKO victories as well as a unanimous decision win. His last win, one of the TKOs, was stopped in round three by the doctors due to a cut. Nasrudinov looks to add to his undefeated record and pick up a UFC contract in the process.

Dana White’s Contender Series 39 Results – Co-Main Event

The co-main event of week three will feature a couple of bantamweights as Brandon Lewis takes on Mo Miller. Both fighters enter this fight with an undefeated record of 5-0. Both fighters also have a high finishing rate, but it is Miller that holds one more finish than Lewis on his record. Lewis will be entering the fight coming off a two fight run with LFA. During that time, he picked up a submission win over Cameron Miller and a split decision win over Jimmy Meza in his most recent outing.

Miller, who is entering the fight with an identical record, is also coming off back to back wins under LFA. The first of those wins was at LFA 90 when he submitted Mando Gutierrez with a rear naked choke in round two. In his most recent fight, Miller picked up another second round finish, this time knocking Regivaldo Carvalho out with a slam.

Dana White’s Contender Series 39 Results – Rest of Card

Kicking things off in week three will be a match up in the women’s flyweight division. Holding a record of 5-1, Jasmine Jasudavicius faces off against Julia Polastri, who enters the fight with a record of 8-2. Jasudavicius is entering the fight with a 1-1 record in her last two outings. First, she would lose a split decision against Elise Reed at CFFC 83. About seven months later, in her most recent outing, Jasudavicius picked up a unanimous decision win over Ashley Deen at CFFC 93.

As Polastri enters the fight, she will be bringing with her a six fight winning streak. The first half of that win streak began with three straight unanimous decision wins. Since then, she has finished her last three opponents in a row. She started with back to back second round KO/TKO wins over Geisa Veloso and Jessica Correa Delboni. In her most recent outing, Polastri picked up her sixth straight win with a second round submission over Jessica Evelyn Monteiro.

Following that first fight will be a welterweight match up as Ange Loosa faces Jack Della Maddalena. Loosa comes into the fight with a 7-1 record as he bounced back from his first pro loss in his last outing. The loss took place in 2018 when he lost a split decision against Jonathan Thomson. He bounced back the following year in 2019, also his most recent outing, as he defeated Collin Luberts by split decision.

Maddalena will be entering the fight with a record of 9-2. He started his professional career off 0-2 and since then, has finished nine fights in a row. His last five wins were all KO/TKO victories that all occurred before the third round. All five of those fights were with Eternal MMA as he picked up KOs over Luke Howard and Aldin Bates as well as TKO wins over Dean AbramoKevin Jousset and Glen Pettigrew.

The third fight of the night will be in the heavyweight division as Lukasz Brzeski takes on Dylan Potter. Brzeski will be entering the fight with a pro record of 8-1-1. He has not lost a fight since 2017 as he has picked up five wins and a draw since then. The draw came in 2019 and since then, Brzeski has won two in a row. The first of those wins was a unanimous decision win over Ednaldo Oliveira. In his most recent fight, taking place over a year ago, Brzeski finished Michal Piwowarski by second round TKO.

His opponent, Potter, enters the fight with a record of 10-5 as he is coming off a record of 1-1 in his last two outings. Following a three fight win streak in 2019, Potter had it snapped the following year when he lost a split decision against Myron Dennis at LFA 95. Potter was more successful in his most recent fight as he picked up a submission win over Nick Mills.

Finally, before the bantamweight co-main event, there will be a middleweight fight between Albert Duraev and Caio Bittencourt. Duraev holds a record of 13-3 coming into this fight as he has won his last eight straight. As he comes into the fight with all that momentum behind him, he has not fought since 2018. It was then where he picked up his most recent victory with a unanimous decision win over Piotr Strus.

Bittencourt enters the fight with a record of 14-6. Like Duraev, Bittencourt is also coming off a eight fight win streak with the most recent of those wins coming in 2018. The difference between Bittencourt’s and Duraev’s last eight outings are that Bittencourt has finished all eight of those wins. His last two wins took him barely two minutes as the first of them was a submission in a minute and the second was a knockout in fifty seconds.

MAIN CARD (ESPN+ – 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT)

Jailton Almeida def. Nasrudin Nasrudinov via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) at 1:49 of Round Two

Recap: Within thirty seconds of the round, Almeida already shot for a takedown but Nasrudinov was easily able to reverse it. Not much happened after that until they got back to their feet about a minute later. Once back to the feet, Almeida started searching for another takedown and eventually got it. He quickly took Nasrudinov’s back following the takedown. Nasrudinov fought off the submission attempts and would then end up getting on top of Almeida. Almeida would stay on his back for about a minute until they got back to the feet with a minute left. Thirty seconds later, Almeida landed another takedown where he would keep it for the remainder of the round.

The second round opened up with a flying knee attempt from Nasrudinov but it would lead directly into a takedown by Almeida. Once on the ground, Almeida quickly got Nasrudinov’s back. Soon after getting both his hooks in, Almeida flattened his opponent out and immediately locked up the rear naked choke forcing Nasrudinov to tap. With a dominant performance over an undefeated opponent, Almeida should be among tonight’s contract winners.

Mo Miller def. Brandon Lewis via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Recap: Round one started off pretty slow the fighters were feeling each other out in the first half of the round. During that time, Lewis was landing a good amount of leg kicks. At the halfway point of the round, Miller landed a hard punch and immediately followed it with a takedown. Miller held Lewis on his back for almost the remainder of the round until Lewis was able to get back to his feet with five seconds left.

In round two, Lewis continued landing good leg kicks while Miller was having success with his punches. Miller was landing some heavy shots that eventually set up a takedown with just over three minutes left. Miller controlled the fight on top for the remainder of the round to add up to a full round of control time by the end of round two.

Going into the last round, Miller needed to keep the fight standing to hope for a finish, but it did not even take a minute for Miller to get the fight back to the mat. Lewis came close to successfully scrambling out of the takedown, but Miller was relentless and eventually landed the single leg. Lewis eventually got back to his feet where he started to get busy on the feet. Yet he was still unable to avoid the takedown as Miller easily got another one with about a minute left. The fight ended with Miller on top as he seemed to have won every round with his control time.

Albert Duraev def. Caio Bittencourt via Submission (Neck Crank) at 3:29 of Round One

Recap: Within a minute of the fight, Duraev got the fight to the ground and was quickly in a position to rain down punches. He started landing a barrage of short, fast punches, almost seeming like he would finish the fight. As the round continued and Bittencourt struggled to get back to his feet, Duraev kept the control on him and continued landing good ground and pound. Eventually, with just under two minutes left in the round, Duraev got a hold of his opponent’s neck and forced Bittencourt to tap. After winning in such dominant fashion, Duraev should surely have earned a UFC contract by the end of the night.

Lukasz Brzeski def. Dylan Potter via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) at 3:51 of Round Three

Recap: In the first round, each guy had their moments, landing some good shots. However, it seemed that Brzeski was having more success, especially when getting Potter up against the fence. About halfway through the round, Brzeski landed a takedown and controlled the fight there for about a minute. Towards the end of the round, it seemed that Brzeski was slowing down a bit as he started taking some deep breaths. But as the round came to a close, Brzeski was landing some heavy shots once again.

As expected, both men seemed to slow down just a little bit in the second round. Yet each guy was still able to find their moments and land some good punches. Much like round one, Brzeski was landing his most successful shots against the fence. Brzeski started controlling the fight even more halfway through the round after getting a takedown. After getting Potter down to the ground, Brzeski got into side control and started landing really good ground and pound. For the last minute of round two, Brzeski had Potter’s back against the fence where he rained down ground and pound until the horn.

After a close ten minutes in rounds one and two, Potter was the one who had now seemed like he had nothing left in the gas tank. Brzeski kept the pressure on Potter for the last five minutes of the fight, keeping his output high as he continued out landing Potter. Brzeski got the fight to the ground again later in the round where he eventually locked up a rear naked choke. As Potter was defending the choke, he attempted to fight Brzeski’s hands and in that moment, the fight was stopped after the ref thought he saw Potter tap.

Jack Della Maddalena def. Ange Loosa via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Recap: Della Maddalena seemed to control the majority of the first round as he landed some heavy shots while also defending a takedown attempt from Loosa. Following the defended takedown, Della Maddelena really seemed to pick up his striking. He was landing heavy combinations to the body and head of Loosa and at one point seemed to even have his opponent stunned from a right hook. Loosa was finding most of his success with some body and leg kicks but ultimately, it seemed that Della Maddalena had won the round.

The second round saw much of the same as Della Maddalena continued landing heavy combos. About a minute and a half into the round, Della Maddalena defended another takedown. Once again, after that, Della Maddalena started teeing off on Loosa once again, landing clean punches before the fight was halted due to a groin strike. Loosa got his biggest opportunity of the fight with about two minutes left after Della Maddalena slipped, allowing Loosa to get on top and locked up a tight arm triangle. It seemed the end was near but Della Maddalena exploded out of it and back to his feet. Another big round for Della Maddalena as he ended the round with some heavy elbows.

In the first third round of his career, Della Maddalena seemed to have slowed down during the final five minutes. Loosa had his most success with his striking in the final round as Della Maddalena was unable to get out of range as well as before. Towards the end of the round, Loosa secured a takedown and controlled Della Maddalena there for about a minute. When Della Maddalena got back to his feet, he landed some very heavy punches to end the round.

Jasmine Jasudavicius def. Julia Polastri via Unanimous Decision (29-27, 29-27, 29-27)

Recap: Jasudavicius dominated round one, controlling Polastri on the ground for nearly three minutes. While on top, she rained down some hard ground and pound. It seemed like Jasudavicius could have ended towards the end but Polastri barely made it to the horn.

Round two was a much different story for Polastri as she did not spend the majority of it on the ground. Jasudavicius only landed one takedown but was only able to hold it for a little under a minute. She had some control on the fence and landed some good knees there as well but once Polastri got free and at striking range, she began finding some success. She landed some very good shots during the final few minutes of the round that made the fight close going into the final frame.

Polastri started off the third round the same way she ended the second round as she continued to land some good shots on Jasudavicius. Polastri seemed to be in control for the majority of the round until the final minute when Jasudavicius finally landed another takedown. From there, she controlled the remainder of the fight, landing some good ground and pound to end the round.
