Diego Sanchez vs. Takanori Gomi possible for March 2 UFC event

A lightweight fight between Diego Sanchez and Takanori Gomi is in the works according to “The Dream”.

Sanchez took to Twitter to announce the possible fight.

“Might have a fight lined up for march 2nd… Just waiting on the man Joe Silva to see if Mr. Fireball kid takes it? #japan #yesyesyes”

Sanchez (23-5) last fought Jake Ellenberger at UFC on FUEL TV 1 back in February. He lost the fight by unanimous decision. Following that welterweight battle, he made the decision to move back to the lightweight division. Sanchez has won “Fight of the Night” honors in his last three fights.

Gomi (34–8-1NC) has won two in a row, with his last coming against Mac Danzig at UFC on FUEL TV 6. That fight earned Gomi “Fight of the Night” reward and an extra chunk of change in his pocket.

Although nothing is official yet, this bout will definitely be fireworks.
