El Jefe, Dillon Danis, is set to make his second outing of the year for Misfits as he is set to return on December 20th. Danis will make the first defence of his Misfits MMA title against former MMA fighter and Misfits stalwart, Anthony Taylor.
Dillon Danis won the inaugural Misfits MMA light heavyweight championship in August when he defeated Warren Spencer. This bout took just 15 seconds (not a typo) for Danis to choke out his opponent and silence some of his haters.
Dillon Danis vs Anthony Taylor – Grudge Match?
After the announcement from Misfits, fans were reminded that Dillon Danis and Anthony Taylor have history. In a car park scuffle, Taylor initiated a brawl with Danis, pushing him and following a lot of pushing and shoving between the two men’s entourages, Taylor landed a clear punch square on Danis’ chin.
It sent the champion tumbling backwards and without a doubt, the altercation will be brought up during the pre-fight hype.

Taylor is the much more experienced MMA fighter with 12 fights under his belt. He debuted back in 2015 for Bellator and although he hasn’t fought since 2020, he’s been active in a range of different combat sports disciplines. He’s notched four exhibition boxing matches, six professional boxing fights and four Misfits professional bouts. Most recently, he was brutally knocked out by Darren Till.
Misfits Mania – The Fight Before Christmas
Dillon Danis vs Anthony Taylor will compete on ‘Misfits Mania – The Fight Before Christmas’ on December 20th from Dubai.
Headlining the card will be controversial social media personality and former kickboxer, Andrew Tate. He will be taking on Chase DeMoor, the Misfits Heavyweight champion.
Whether Misfits should be involved with Tate is certainly questionable. In May of this year, 21 charges were brought against Tate and his brother, Tristan, including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking. He’s never far from controversy and his ‘brand’ of toxic masculinity arguably isn’t appropriate for Misfits, who have a younger audience.
