Dustin Poirier vs. Chan Sung Jung set to headline UFC on FUEL TV 3

UFC on FUEL TV 1 has not even happened yet and the organization has now confirmed the headlining match for UFC on FUEL TV 3. The excerpt below is courtesy of UFC.com.

“The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung takes on Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier in a three-round main event, set for May 15th in Fairfax, VA.

Two of the best in the division will look to square off in what will more than likely be a number one contender bout.

Poirier is fresh off a decisive submission victory against late replacement Matt Holloway at UFC 143. Following his “Submission of the Night” victory, Poirier told members of the media that he wasn’t quite ready for a title shot yet.

Like many others “The Diamond” took to twitter to call out his next opponent. Him and “The Korean Zombie” had quite the duel going on in cyberspace and this must have caught the attention of the UFC brass.

Jung is also riding a winning streak in the UFC.  After coming over from the WEC just one year ago, he has gone 2-0 with victories over Leonard Garcia and Mark Hominick. Both of those victories picked him up award nods, with his submission victory over Garcia getting him the Submission of the Year award.

UFC on FUEL TV is set to take place at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia on May 15, 2012. Poirier and Jung are slated to be the main event, with  Donald Cerrone vs. Yves Edwards, Thiago Silva vs. Igor Pokrajac and Tom Lawlor vs. Jason MacDonald also on the card.
