Dustin Poirier vs Erik Koch Confirmed for UFC 143, Superbowl Weekend.

The UFC Twitter feed has confirmed a featherweight bout of Dustin Poirier vs. Erik Koch for UFC 143 on Superbowl weekend (Feburary 4, 2012).

As expected from a protege of UFC veteran, and BJJ black belt Tim Credeur,  Dustin Poirier impressively submitted Pablo Garza via Darce choke on the under card of UFC on FOX this past weekend.  The win takes Poirier to a professional record of 11-1.

The Team Roufusport fighter, Erik Koch last fight was a unanimous decision win against The Ultimate Fighter 12 winner Jonathan Brookins taking him to a 13-1 professional record.

Both young fighters have close to the same records, are riding 4 fight win streaks and are both extremely well versed in all aspects of MMA through their respective coaches.  This will be a must see fight showcasing the future likely champions of the featherweight division.
