MMASucka Staff Picks DWCS 84: Middleweight Finishers Collide

DWCS 84 brings the action for the last night in September. Taking top billing in DWCS 84, Brazil’s Vitor Costa takes the fight to Suriname competitor Damian Pinas. Before that, Canadian prospect Louis Jourdain grapples with South American finisher, Magno Dias.

DWCS 84 Main Event

Following a disappointing loss in his professional debut to future UFC name César Almeida, Costa has enjoyed a sensational eight-fight winning streak, with five of those victories coming in the first round ahead of DWCS 84. He also cemented a title lineage in his native country’s Jungle Fight promotion, capturing their middle and light heavyweight championships.

Other than an illegal upkick defeat, Pinas has remained flawless inside the cage, with all of his triumphs coming inside the distance. Competing for the first time in 2025, “The Babayaga” is setting the stage for what he hopes to be a fruitful entry into the UFC after DWCS 84.

DWCS 84 Co-Main Event

With a mixed martial arts career dating back to 2013, as well as possessing a background in boxing and Muay Thai, Jourdain is more than a challenge on the feet for any fighter he comes across. Ending his last three scraps by knockout, “Mad Prince” brings a major degree of striking ability to the Apex.

Living up to his nickname, “The Violence,” Dias has accrued a sterling 100% finishing rate across his time as a professional combatant, which includes two knockouts and four submissions. A product of the famed Fighting Nerds gym, the 28-year old is seeking to join his teammates in the UFC.

More Bouts on the Card

Rounding out the main card, Christopher Alvidrez takes on the undefeated Eliezer Kubanza. Then, the unblemished Kurtis Campbell battles Demba Seck. Finally, veteran flyweights Rashid Vagabov and Paulo da Silva face off in the opening bout of the night.

DWCS 84

MMASucka staff picks are composed of four of the world’s leading mixed martial arts organizations: the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the Professional Fighters League (PFL), ONE Championship (ONE FC), and Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS).

  • UFC picks will include main card fights ranging from four to six matchups per event.
  • PFL picks from main cards for pay-per-views and from tournament fights in the Regular Season, Playoffs, and Finals.
  • ONE FC and DWCS picks will feature all MMA fights from the event with a minimum of three matchups.

The individual who picks the most victorious fighters by the end of 2025 will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBelts or a detailed chain from Championship Chains
