Eric Parrudo drops out of Brave 8; Luan Santiago to face newcomer Igor Soares

Lightweight Eric Parrudo has dropped out of Brave 8: The Rise of Champions, due to undisclosed reasons, Brave Combat Federation officials announced today. He was scheduled to face Luan “Miau” Santiago on the main card, but after being forced off, Parrudo has been replaced by Igor Soares, who will make his Brave debut.
Santiago has been one of the most influential Brazilian fighters in the promotion’s roster. After winning the National Fighter of the Year award in 2016, after three straight knockout victories, the Lightweight phenom has made headlines internationally with his Brave debut. “Miau” needed only one round to continue his KO streak and dispatching Ivan Castillo at Brave 3: Battle in Brazil, last March.

Fighting out of the famed CM System gym, Santiago now turns his attention to Soares, who also trains in Curitiba, with Noguchi team. Igor boasts a professional record of four wins and has finished three of his opponents inside the first round. The newcomer comes off an important win, making quick work of Rafael Lima last May and picking up a submission victory in only 30 seconds.
On August 12th, Brave lands in Curitiba for Brave 8: The Rise of Champions. While there, the promotion will crown two new champions. Local hero Klidson Abreu battles undefeated prospect Timo Feucht for the Light Heavyweight title. On the co-main event, Brave’s biggest stars will collide as Lebanon’s Mohammad Fakhreddine and Englishman Carl Booth face off for Brave’s Welterweight World Title. In November, the promotion goes back to Bahrain in great style as Brave rounds off the International Combat Week with a stacked card of its own alongside the IMMAF World Championships.
