UFC officials announced Tuesday that Ricardo Lamas will take fellow WEC featherweight Erik Koch’s spot at UFC 143 against Dustin Poirier.
Lamas who is 2-0 in his UFC career since moving over from the WEC, with key victories over Matt Grice and Cub Swanson. He defeated Grice by killer head kick KO very early in the first round and went on to win ‘Submission of the Night’ honours with an arm triangle choke against Swanson.
Poirier who also came over from the WEC is 3-0 in his UFC career, with wins over Josh Grispi, Jason Young and Pablo Garza. He is the protege of UFC middleweight Tim Credeur.
This fight will take place on the UFC 143 undercard.
