You now have a new way to watch Karate Combat events as of tonight. Effective with the Feb. 28 Karate Combat 53 in Denver, the striking-only combat sports promotion can now be seen on Free Ad-Supported Television (FAST) channels owned by Dooya, Inc.
The new partnership was announced earlier today, just hours before the start of tonight’s show. KC events can also be streamed via UFC Fight Pass.
Karate Combat Comes to Dooya FAST Channels
As part of the new arrangement, events from the promotion, both archived and current, will now be accessible to viewers of Dooya FAST and video on-demand channels on platforms like Paramount Global-owned Pluto TV, Amazon Prime Video, FOX-owned Tubi, Roku, Xumo, and TCL. All told, the library of past content totals north of 250 hours of footage.
Karate Combat 53 will be headlined tonight by an openweight bout matching Brendan Allen with Caio Borralho in the main event of the evening. The fireworks don’t stop there, either.
Highlight-Reel Knockout Artist Makes His Way Into Pit in Co-Main Event
UFC alumnus Robelis Despaigne, who’s won his last two bouts in KC in a matter of seconds, makes his way back into the pit for the co-main event of the evening versus Roggers Souza at super heavyweight. Souza is ranked No. 4 heading into tonight’s card.
Dooya Media Group’s Executive Vice President, Live Sports Kim Hurwitz, couldn’t be more ecstatic with the company’s new partnership with KC.
Kim Hurwitz on Dooya Deal With Karate Combat
“Karate Combat fans and Dooya viewers are perfect for each other,” Hurwitz began in the press release. “They’re adventurous, discerning, and know value when they see it. We’re thrilled to get Karate Combat’s immersive, innovative take on combat sports on our far-reaching network of channels. As a Shotokan black belt karateka myself, I am very happy to elevate and expose them to new audiences.”
Karate Combat CMO Dan Ghosh-Roy on New Deal with Dooya
KC Chief Marketing Officer Dan Ghosh-Roy had equally kind words to say about the new arrangement.
“This partnership with Dooya gives Karate Combat the opportunity to reach even more of our core younger audience on devices and channels where they are actively consuming content,” he said.
Cryptocurrency is involved in these events, as well. Fans watching events, such as tonight’s show (8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT) can wager and win $KARATE tokens based on outcomes of fights at no risk to them.
“For our new fans, I look forward to giving them the best in combat sports as well as giving them opportunities to interact with our league and fighters, like no other league can offer, with our $KARATE token and web3 products,” Ghosh-Roy mentioned.
The promotion is also a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), meaning that fighters and fans alike can and will have a voice as to how it operates.
