Ricardo Lamas vs. Chan Sung Jung booked for UFC 162 in Las Vegas

A big bout has been booked in the featherweight division, as Ricardo Lamas will take on Chan Sung Jung in what could be a potential number one contender fight at UFC 162.

UFC officials announced the match-up on Wednesday evening.

Lamas (13-2) is currently riding a four-fight winning streak, most recently he picked up a TKO victory over Erik Koch at UFC on FOX 6. Other victories during his win streak are Matt Grice (UFC on Versus 4), Cub Swanson (UFC on FOX 1) and Hatsu Hioki (UFC on FX 4).

“The Bully” is currently undefeated inside the Octagon since making the move over from the WEC. He is widely considered as the number one contender in the featherweight division.

Jung (13-3) is also on a winning streak himself. He has picked up three in a row over the likes of Leonard Garcia (Fight Night 24), Mark Hominick (UFC 140) and most recently a fight and submission of the night/year d’arce choke against Dustin Poirier at UFC on FUEL TV 3.

“The Korean Zombie” will look to continue his winning ways and possibly lock up a title shot with a win over Lamas.

UFC 162 is expected to go down on July 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada and will be headlined by a UFC middleweight title fight between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman.
