Aggression Fighting Championship announced last month their partnership with Youtoo TV. Every Saturday night “Aggression TV MMA” will air with everything from fights to short-form MMA reality shows, to docu-dramas and fight mash-ups.
The aforementioned reality show has began filming and it is being dubbed “Make Me a Fighter”.
Auditions for the show were held last Saturday and about 100 hopefuls turned out for the chance to be the next big Canadian MMA star.
The premise behind the show focuses on athletes with no prior amateur or professional MMA experience. The chosen contestants will then be added to one of two MMA teams, which will be coached by Travis Cardinal/Shane Campbell and Victor Valimaki/Mike Newton.
MMASucka.com spoke with AFC’s Darren Owen about the new reality show.
“This is a new dynamic reality show, featuring people of all types that think they have what it takes to become an MMA fighter.
There were over 100 people that registered for the auditions and needless to saw we weren’t surprised that the reality of the situation set in and about 50 actually showed up for the casting call where they were put through about an hour long training session which featured strength and condition, jiu jitsu, Muay Thai and MMA. The individuals that showed up pushed it to their limits some could hang and some definitely couldn’t. A lot of their eyes opened up to the reality of what real fighters go through even though it was a relatively short session compared to the pros. There are definitely some diamonds in the rough.”
