PXC announced the full fight card today for its 40th installment, which goes down on October 25 at the UOG Fieldhouse in Guam. As with past events, fans will be able to catch all the action LIVE online at http://new.livestream.com/accounts/1594039/.
PXC 41 will be the Pacific X-Treme Combat’s penultimate event before the end of the calendar year.
Final fight card for PXC 40: 135-lbs title headliner plus eight bouts set for October 25
The headlining bout will see Michinori Tanaka (8-0) defend his Bantamweight belt for the first time against challenger Kyle Aguon (6-3). Other notable bouts include the promotional debut of Will Chope (18-5) as takes on King of Pancrase Takumi Nakayama (18-13-6, 1 NC) at 145-lbs, former Bellator MMA vet Patricia Vidonic (8-6) taking on Japanese MMA icon Mei Yamaguchi (11-5-1) in the only women’s match-up of the fight card, and Lightweights Tyrone Jones (2-2) vs. Chuji Kato (4-1-1) among others.
Officials made the announcment through Facebook.
With an unblemished record, Tanaka is one of the hottest commodities in Asia right now, let alone the Japanese region. He won the Bantamweight belt at PXC 37, when he defeated Team Lakay’s Crisanto Pitpitunge in a five round affair. Up for the tough task, though, will be Guam’s very own Kyle Aguon. On a four fight win streak, the Spike 22 native earned his shot at the title by defeating Russell Doane at PXC 38.
Will “The Kill” Chope, the tallest 145-lbs fighter in Asia, will not be having the easiest of PXC debuts having been enrolled in a match-up with Pancrase vet Takumi Nakayama. With a dozen submission victories to his credit and on an incredible thirteen fight win streak, Chope’s biggest test now lies in PXC, as he yearns for a spot on the UFC roster. But looking past Nakayama would be criminal, given the Japanese fighter’s vast experience of over 30 pro bouts. Nakayama, 39, made his promotional debut at PXC 37, submitting Jonathan Pecyna in the first frame.
All eyes will be on the women’s bout of the evening as well, with both Patricia Vidonic and Mei Yamaguchi being seasoned vets of the MMA game. Having fought at Bellator MMA against top competitive female fighters like Felice Herrig and Jessica Aguilar, Medford, Oregon’s Patricia Vidonic will be hoping to use that experience to get the better of her opponent come fight night. Mei Yamaguchi, on the other hand, is considered to be somewhat of a spectacle in the female sector of Japanese MMA, holding notable victories over Saori Ishioka, Emi Fujino, Kyoko Takabayashi, Yuka Tsuji, Tomomi Sunaba and Mika Nagano.
