Gegard Mousasi vs. Mike Kyle set for 'Strikeforce: Champions' in January

A light heavyweight showdown between Gegard Mousasi and Mike Kyle is slated for the January ‘Strikeforce: Champions’ card.

Kyle (19-8-1) announced the match-up for the final Strikeforce card in a YouTube video (see below).

The two were formally targeted to fight on three different occasions, however injuries stopped those fights from happening.

Mousasi (32-3-2) was laid out of action for almost a year due to an ACL injury. His last victory was against Ovince St. Preux back in December 2011.

Kyle (19-8-1, 2 NC) last fought in May when he was submitted in 38 seconds against Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante. However, that loss was overturned and ruled a ‘No Contest’due to Cavalcante testing positive for a banned substance after the fight.

“Strikeforce: Champions” is set to take place January 12 at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. Check out the expected fight card below.
