Gregor Gillespie vs. Brad Riddell – UFC Vegas 22 Preview

Following a hellacious head kick knockout to Kevin Lee in his last outing, standout wrestler Gregor Gillespie looks to rebound against City Kick Boxing Academy’s Brad Riddell, who enters the fight on a six-fight winning streak

The tables have turned as the NCAA Division I wrestling phenom looks to send the streaking opponent back down the ladder. While Gillespie’s inactivity is certainly a cause for concern, his skills are undeniable. Prior to the mishap with Lee, Gillespie was unbeaten with the UFC. With just two losses to share among the two lightweight fighters, there is no doubt the highly competitive affair will deliver on the goods. After a period of inactivity, there are always questions but that often makes for an exciting side story.

Gregor Gillespie vs. Brad Riddell –  Preview

Gillespie will get his chance at redemption and an opportunity to erase such a nasty knockout with a solid performance at UFC Vegas 22. However, Riddell–sporting a six-fight win streak couldn’t be more confident going in. In addition, what makes Riddell such a problem is the power in his hands. After seeing his fellow teammate, UFC middleweight Israel Adesanya failed to secure the second tile, surely Riddell is ready to show what the Oceanic team is all about.

Since Riddell has not tasted defeat since 2018, he will come in hot looking to keep that record intact. The matchup is rare because it happens to be one of the few times the UFC is pairing a fighter that previously lost, with a fighter that won their last time out.

Gregor Gillespie And His Chance To Get A Big Gift

While the two are well-rounded, the fight is a contrast in styles. Riddell’s willingness to trade will benefit the renowned wrestler. In such a pivotal spot in his career, Gillespie understands that wrestling is what got him to the dance. What puts the cherry on top is the fact that Riddell has not recorded even one submission. So, once Gillespie finds himself in those possible grappling scenarios, he at least knows who is least likely to be submitted.
