Ham Seo Hee Readies For Crowning Achievement At ONE Fight Night 14

Ham Seo Hee has been missing only one piece to her legacy. She will get a chance to add that piece at ONE Fight Night 14 on Friday, September 29, live on Prime Video. The South Korean will battle Stamp Fairtex for the Interim ONE Atomweight World Championship.

A 6-0 run since returning to atomweight led Ham to ONE Championship. Since arriving on its global stage, the 36-year-old has added three more outstanding victories to her record. Now she is ready to complete her story against her Thai opponent.

“I am putting in a lot of effort to get ready for the upcoming fight – like any other one – so I have no regrets when the fight comes. I am doing my best to prepare in every aspect rather than just preparing separately for one area. But as we both possess striking strengths, I am focusing on training to showcase it during the title fight,” Ham told ONE.

Stamp has been seeking three-sport gold since transitioning into mixed martial arts. The former ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion has shown devastating striking power and incredible growth as a grappler. However, Ham says her all-around game is simply better than what Stamp brings to the table.

“I think Stamp is a powerful opponent. Her Muay Thai strikes are powerful, and she successfully transitioned them into MMA. But I’m a cut above her in MMA. I think MMA striking has different distances and movements that set it apart,” Ham professed.

Although she lauds her overall skill advantage over Stamp, Ham is not underestimating the Thai superstar. Ham has a firm grasp on the dangers she poses on the feet and expects a tough battle for the gold when they collide in Singapore. The South Korean athlete is preparing for five grueling rounds to claim the atomweight gold.

“I can’t say who holds the advantage, but I maintain confidence against any opponent. I always aim for the finish and try to fight aggressively. However, I also consider the judges’ verdicts and make sure to prepare accordingly. It’s great if I get the finish, but even if I don’t, I enjoy being in the Circle and don’t mind spending more time there. I will always enjoy the fight. And I will always try my best, give it my all, and come out without any regrets,” Ham stated.

Ham’s career has seen her compete across the world and against the biggest names in the sport. Early in her career, she even battled Megumi Fujii. 16 years after getting her start, Ham is one fight away from her crowning moment. ONE Fight Night 14 means everything to the 36-year-old.

“I think the ONE Championship belt will be the final achievement. That’s why it means a lot to me. I want to continue fighting this level of competition while defending the World Title for a long time.”

ONE Fight Night 14 airs live on Prime Video on Friday, September 29. The action begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The event is free for all Amazon Prime subscribers based in the U.S. and Canada.
