Ibragim Ibragimov – The Mauler
Talented Family and Ambitions for a Stadium Fight
It’s in the blood. The Ibragimov name is one that we’ll be hearing about for a number of years, however, it isn’t just in MMA that the name will likely become famous. Three of the four Ibragimov brothers play for the famous Manchester United Football Academy. Amir, Gazik and Muhammad are all products of the youth team, destined for a big future. Amir, in particular, is the stand-out. Having been backed by the greatest football manager of all time, Sir Alex Ferguson, Amir has represented England at youth level.

It’s the ambition of Ibragim Ibragimov, who wants to follow in his younger brother’s footsteps, that makes his rise in MMA so exciting. He anticipates that his brother, Amir, will make his Manchester United first team debut during this upcoming season. As fans of football will know, Manchester United play at the famous Old Trafford stadium and Ibragimov is ambitious about his future at ‘The Theatre of Dreams’.
Last year, Ibragimov stated: ‘Maybe in the future we’ll bring PFL over to Old Trafford and make it a big show‘. Despite it being very unlikely, never say never. The PFL are doing things that other promotions aren’t doing. The UFC are yet to crack Africa, however, the PFL will make their debut in South Africa later this year. The UFC don’t like to do stadium shows, however, if the PFL do so, it could be huge. What better way to kick off a European stadium show with Ibragimov and Ditcheva sat atop the bill?

Whatever happens, the future of Ibragim Ibragimov is extremely bright and with a record of 10-0 at just 21 years old, there’s a good chance that he could become a multi-weight PFL champion (if his teammate Umar Nurmagomedov relinquishes the lightweight belt). Does he have a future in the big leagues of the UFC? If he continues his upward trajectory, there’s little doubt that Dana White and co will be looking at him.
