Jairzinho Rozenstruik is ready to redeem himself, but he has to get through a crafty striker in Augusto Sakai first.
Broadcasted on ESPN+, UFC Vegas 28 goes down this Saturday and it’s all about the heavyweights on this card. In addition to the main event between Rozenstruik and Sakai, fellow heavyweights Walt Harris and Marcin Tybura will throw down in the co-main event as well. With rising upstarts like Sean Woodson also on the card, and it’s certainly flying under the radar.

However, the story of the week is whether Rozenstruik can return to the previous form that saw him take out the likes of Alistair Overeem with one punch. However, after a lacklustre performance with a stubborn refusal to pull the trigger against Ciryl Gane, “Bigi Boy” lost his last fight and will look to rebound against Sakai.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik Attempting To Regain His Footing Against Sakai
Prior to the pairing with Rozenstruik, Sakai also faced Overeem but had wildly different results. In particular, the heavyweight struggled with the pressure and tactical strikes Overeem presented. In the end, “The Demolition Man” was able to finish Sakai with ground and pound in the fifth round.
While Sakai came out of the fight with a loss, it showed his heart and toughness nonetheless. Of course, Sakai wasn’t blown out of the water completely, as the 30-year old Brazilian had some success on the feet.
Sakai Looking To Right The Ship Against Jairzinho Rozenstruik
Before the loss to Overeem, Sakai was on a massive six-fight win streak. With only two losses on his record, the heavyweight has a high ceiling considering his young age and fight IQ. Overall, both fighters prefer to keep the fight standing typically, so the chances of a stand-up war seem relatively high.
Granted, when each fighter is trying to rebound, sometimes tentative approaches are taken. But since both of these men are in the main event, perhaps we could see a very violent end to a pivotal fight in the heavyweight division.
