Jake Shields Only Landed One Strike Against Ellenberger

It was obvious from the get go that Jake Shields’ strategy was to take Jake Ellenberger down in their main event fight at Ultimate Fight Night 25 this past Saturday night. Unfortunately his one and only takedown attempt was stuffed, so he tried to throw some punches. Again this did not work out for him, as FightMetric shows he threw 13 strikes, but only 1 landed. Ellenberger on the other hand threw 17 strikes and 10 of which landed. The blow which eventually led to referee Kevin Mulhall calling an end to the fight was a devastating knee to the head.
