Jan Błachowicz Hints Bout with Aleksandar Rakic

One month after his title loss at UFC 267, Jan Błachowicz is not looking to give any excuses about his performance against Glover Teixeira. But he also doesn’t try to hide the fact that it was one if not the worst nights of his fighting career.

Błachowicz is not Going to Feel Sad for Himself

In his interview with MMA Hour, Błachowicz stated that everything went wrong that night in Abu Dhabi. He stills thinks about his last fight, contemplating reasons for his loss, but doesn’t want to waste time feeling sad about it. What happened, happened, and now he wants to focus on training and reclaiming his title.

According to him, this was more of a mental defeat than a physical one. In his own words, it “wasn’t his night” and he thinks that this one step backward will allow him to take two forward, an idea that is not new to him.

Błachowicz admitted that this was one of the worst moments in his entire life. With that being said, he already returned to gym and has resumed training.

Who is Next for the Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion?

Błachowicz hopes to make his return in March, and he made a few hints that UFC has already proposed a potential opponent. The common belief was that the Polish fighter would square off with Anthony Smith, but Błachowicz stated that’s not the case, and was asked about Aleskandar Rakic, to which he answered with one word: ‘Maybe’.

Fans will have to wait for the official announcement, and only time will tell if Błachowicz will be able to get his career back on the right track and silence those amongst the Polish MMA community who say that he lost his hunger for victory.
