Jasmine Jasudavicius (4-1 MMA) is looking to rebound from her first professional defeat when she meets Ashley Deen (5-5 MMA) at CFFC 93 on Friday.
Jasudavicius likes the match-up because she believes both she and Deen like to move forward. The Canadian considers herself a pressure fighter.
“It’s a match-up for the fans, that’s for sure,” Jasudavicius told MMASucka.
A Lesson Learned
Jasudavicius is returning to flyweight after dropping to strawweight her last fight to compete for the CFFC 115-pound title. She came up short, losing a split decision to Elise Reed.
“In all honesty, I thought I won the fight,” Jasudavicius said. “I thought the takedowns kind of sealed it. But I left it in the judges’ hands. It was my intention all along to be finishing the fight and overextending, but whatever, I’ve learned from that. Even though I learned lessons from that fight, I still think, yeah, I did win that fight. But the loss has really taught me a lot.”
The biggest lesson she learned is to be more patient.
“Even within MMA and within life, I was moving forward too much and pushing too hard,” Jasudavicius said. “I wasn’t taking any downtime or any time to appreciate the process and show MMA the respect that it deserves. I think the biggest lesson I learned is to be more patient and enjoy myself more.”
Jasudavicius is not ruling out a return to strawweight but said she is happy competing as a flyweight.
She feels a win over Deen could earn her another CFFC title shot; at flyweight this time. She said it’d be “sick” to potentially become a CFFC dual-weight champion somewhere down the line.
“That’s a huge goal to be wanting two titles in the same organization, which I don’t think is an unrealistic goal,” Jasudavicius said. “But, as of right now, I’m really only focused on the Ashley Deen fight; the fight ahead of me. After that, I’m gonna re-assess.”
Jasudavicius said she is open to all opportunities, but she would like to compete for a certain MMA organization.
“My eye is on the UFC,” she said. “I started out with my eye on the UFC, and I continued on that trend. I would certainly be open to the other organizations.”

Jasudavicius does not have a prediction for how her fight with Deen ends. Instead, she plans to implement the lesson she learned from her loss to Reed.
“I’m going to let the fight organically open itself up,” she said. “I’m still always going to be looking for the finish. I much prefer finishing than going to the judges’ decision. But I’m not going to force anything. I just can’t wait to get in there in all honesty.”
CFFC 93 is scheduled for Friday, March 12. The card, including Jasmine Jasudavicius vs. Ashley Deen, will go down at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia and air on UFC Fight Pass.
