Joe Lauzon and Michael Chiesa will step across the Octagon from each other in a lightweight battle at UFC Fight Night 50.
UFC officials announced the match-up on Tuesday.
Joe Lauzon vs. Michael Chiesa set for UFC Fight Night 50
Lauzon (23-9) has yet to fight in 2014, with his last bout being a unanimous decision victory against Mac Danzig at last December’s UFC on FOX 9 event. That victory came after two-straight losses against Jim Miller and Michael Johnson.
Chiesa (11-1) has one lone blemish on his record and that was a submission loss to Jorge Masvidal at UFC on FOX 8 last July. Since then he has won two in a row, with victories over Colton Smith and most recently Francisco Trinaldo at UFC 173.
The Lauzon vs. Chiesa bout will likely take place on the evening’s main card.
UFC Fight Night 50 goes down from Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Conn. No other bouts have been announced yet.
