Veteran announcer Joe Martinez will be filling in for Bruce Buffer at this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 34 proceedings.

Joe Martinez to handle UFC: Singapore ring announcing duties, Stann fills in for Florian
This past week, Buffer revealed at a UFC Fight Club Q&A session in Las Vegas that he wouldn’t be making the trip to Singapore for his trademark ring announcing duties. With the organization planning to host close to 50 events in the calendar year, Buffer admitted he wouldn’t be able to make it to every one of them.
Martinez, a mainstay as a cage announcer during the WEC days, made his UFC ring announcing debut in 2012 at a UFC on FX event in Australia. With the TUF 16 Finale going down just a day after at that point, it would have been near impossible for Buffer to be back in Las Vegas in time. So Martinez was handed the microphone duties in place of the veteran back then.
The other call for Saturday’s Singapore card will see former UFC Light Heavyweight Brian Stann, fill in for Jon Anik’s usual partner Kenny Florian, at color-commentary.
UFC Fight Night 34 takes place at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. The event will only be available on the all-new “UFC Fight Pass” network, which will stream proceedings LIVE starting with prelims at 6 a.m. ET, and the main card at 9 a.m. ET.
