Joe Proctor forced to withdraw from UFC 159 bout with Al Iaquinta due to injury

An undisclosed injury has forced UFC lightweight Joe Proctor out of his UFC 159 bout with Al Iaquinta.

Proctor announced the injury via his official Twitter account on Thursday.

Proctor (8-2) was on a four-fight winning streak which included his TUF 15 finale knockout over Jeremy Larsen, however he came up short in his most recent bout at UFC on FOX 5 against Ramsey Nijem.

The 27-year old trains with fellow lightweight fighter Joe Lauzon.

No word as to whether Iaquinta will receive a replacement on just over two weeks notice.

UFC 159 goes down on April 27 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The main event is for the UFC light heavyweight championship, as TUF 17 coaches Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen go to war.
