Jon Jones confirms story of hiding to avoid drug test

For years people have speculated as to whether or not Jon Jones hid under the cage at Jackson-Wink to avoid a drug test. It’s been rumored and speculated on ever since Chael Sonnen first reported the story back in 2016 on the Joe Rogan Podcast. Since that time many a rival brought up the story to try and skewer Jones, but he never confirmed or denied it, until now.

Jones recently vacated the light heavyweight title in order to make a run at the heavyweight title. However, he’s been sidetracked by Israel Adesanya, with whom he’s been at war with via Twitter.

He’s recently been involved in an ugly and spirited war of words with UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Adesanya brought the story back up. He claimed Jon hid under the cage from USADA to avoid being drug tested.

Jon Jones replied to the tweet and gave his side of the ordeal. He confirmed for the first time that he did in fact hide under the cage. However, he said it was from the NSAC and not USADA and it was because he had just “smoked a blunt.”

Facts are facts…

So there you have it, Jon Jones has come out and explained what has long been assumed. He hid under a cage to avoid a drug test. The Nevada State Atletic Commission hasn’t responded to this information yet. Nothing is expected to come of it as it happened years ago.

The one thing that has come of this whole thing is the fans might be more interested in seeing Jon Jones face Israel Adesanya rather than going up to heavyweight at this point. It’s a mega-fight that the fans are clamoring to see, and hopefully, it comes to pass in the not too distant future.
