Jon Jones is back, trying to get his name on the upcoming, historic UFC White House card. Speaking at last night’s Dirty Boxing 4 event, Jon Jones used the opportunity to shoot his shot with the UFC president:
“Dana, please bro. I’m training, I feel great, I’m healthy. I’d be so honoured to represent our country and do what I do best”.

It’s clear that Dana White isn’t keen on having Jon Jones on the megacard after previous comments stating that he can’t trust Jones. It’s worth noting that Jones knows that he isn’t in the boss’ good books and has apologised for the issues around his ‘retirement’ and the apparent ‘ducking’ of UFC heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall.
It’s unlikely that the former light heavyweight and heavyweight champion will feature on the card, however, if he does, it poses questions as to who he would face. He took aim at Aspinall following the Brit’s no-contest at UFC 321. It’s obvious that Jones wants no piece of Aspinall, so don’t expect that one to get booked. The highest potential is light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, stepping up to heavyweight to meet Jones in a fight that would have fans captivated throughout. What would be on the line? UFC commentator, Joe Rogan suggested that it should have the BMF trinket attached to it.
Both men appear keen for the match-up, however, we know that Dana White and the UFC are not going to confirm any match-ups for the White House card until next year.
If not Jon Jones, who?
If Jon Jones doesn’t feature on the UFC White House card, the question is, who will? Many rumours have swirled, seemingly confirmed by the man himself that Conor McGregor will be returning to the UFC for the first time in four years to face Michael Chandler.
Robert Whittaker has stated that he’d like to meet Sean Strickland on the White House Card, however, as we know, nothing is confirmed yet.
Expect the UFC White House Card to have a strong American feel to it, especially as it’s taking place on the 250th anniversary of the United States. At the time of writing, there is only one American UFC champion, Kayla Harrison. We can expect her to be on the card, potentially against the GWOAT, Amanda Nunes.
Whatever happens, we know one thing for sure: the UFC White House card is going to be stacked, and we can’t wait until June 14th.
