Jones vs. Henderson slated for September 1 in Vegas

UFC President Dana White once again took to Twitter to drop knowledge on the masses. He confirmed on Wednesday that Jon Jones will defend his light heavyweight title against Dan Henderson on September 1.

The fight will mark Jones’ fourth title defense in less than a year after defeating Mauricio “Shogun” Rua for the title in March of last year. Since then he has defended agianst Rampage Jackson, Lyoto Machida and most recently ex-teammate Rashad Evans.

Henderson is a former Pride 185 and 205 pound champion who earned his title shot in a thrilling five round war against Rua, in what White called “one of the best fights I’ve ever seen”. He is currently riding a four fight win streak which includes a knockout victory over the legendary “Last Emperor” Fedor Emelianenko.

The fight will take place in Las Vegas, although no venue has been announced.
