Josh Koscheck vs. Jake Ellenberger face off in UFC 151 co-main event

Josh Koscheck is set to step back in the cage in the co-main event at UFC 151 against Jake Ellenberger.

The UFC announced the match-up on Wednesday.

Two top-ten ranked welterweights have verbally agreed to meet in the co-main event of UFC 151 as powerhouse wrestlers Jake “The Juggernaut” Ellenberger and Josh Koscheck will battle it out September 1st.

Ellenberger (27-6) was ever so close to a title shot before he was derailed by Martin Kampmann at The Ultimate Fighter Live finale. He will now be even more determined to get a win, so he can climb back into title contention in a stacked welterweight division.

Koscheck (17-6) will look to get back in the win column, as he is coming off a split decision loss to Johny Hendricks at  UFC on Fox 3. Prior to that loss he was on a two fight win streak with victories over Matt Hughes and Mike Pierce.

Koscheck vs. Ellenberger will be the co-main event at UFC 151, which will be held at the  Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 1. UFC 151 is expected to be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between champ Jon Jones and former PRIDE and Strikeforce champion Dan Henderson.
