Junior Assuncao out, J.P. Reese in to take on Daniel Swain at XFC 27

The main event has been changed at XFC 27, as Junior Assuncao has been forced to withdraw from action due to injury. Stepping in for him is J.P. Reese who will take on Daniel Swain. That fight will now be second on the card and the title fight between Deivison Ribeiro vs. Farkhad Sharipov now main event.

MMASucka.com learned from sources close to the event about the lineup change.

Swain (10-2)  is a Pancrase and MFC veteran that is looking to continue on his winning ways. He is currently riding a four-fight winning streak with his most recent victory against Tomonari Kanomata at Pancrase 248 in Japan. “Agent Orange” is a wrestling standout who is now training with Trevor Prangley’s AKA school.

Reese (10-7) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Billy Quarantillo at Real Fighting Championships 29 in November. The highlight on the American Top Team’s record is a last minute fight for Strikeforce, unfortunately he lost to Bobby Green. He also went 3-0 under the Bellator banner.

XFC 27 is set to go down on December 13 from Muskegon, MI. As mentioned the Ribeiro vs. Sharipov fight will headline the card, while all the other bouts will move up.
