Kayla Harrison Throws Shade at Former Champion
Former UFC bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey has been back in the headlines this week with her rumoured boxing match with Katie Taylor grabbing a lot of attention. On top of this, Kayla Harrison’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz has claimed that the champion and Rousey have a lot of beef from their judo days. There was no great evidence to this claim, but when asked about Rousey, Harrison made her feelings very clear.
A reporter asked Harrison a question, saying:
“The last time Amanda (Nunes) fought an Olympic judo medalist, it was about as perfect a performance -“
Kayla Harrison interrupted him, reminding him that Rousey is a bronze medalist. As we know, Harrison is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, doing what Rousey couldn’t do. He went on to ask if that’s a storyline going into this fight, and Harrison responded with:
“Hey listen, the only thing that Ronda and I have in common is that we’re both blonde and we both did judo at one point. That’s where it starts and stops. I’m a completely different fighter, I’m a completely different person and on January 24th I’m going to go out and show that”
We can assume that Kayla Harrison is implying that she is planning on doing what Rousey couldn’t do back in 2016 and beat Amanda Nunes.

UFC 324 marks the first numbered event of the new Paramount Plus era for the UFC. The first event of 2026 will go down on January 24th from the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.
