Last week, it was revealed that KSW 43 would take place at the beautiful Hala Stulecia venue in Wroclaw, Poland on April 14th.
Today it was revealed that the event will be headlined by Wroclaw’s own Olympic hero Damian Janikowski (2-0).
Roberto Soldic (13-2) will defend his newly-earned welterweight title against Dricus Du Plessis (11-1), and Michal Andryszak (20-6, 1NC) will compete for the vacant heavyweight title.
KSW 43 announced for April 14
Olympic bronze medalist Damian Janikowski made his highly-anticipated MMA debut at the monumental KSW 39 stadium show in May. He stopped American Julio Gallegos with strikes in less than 90-seconds. The 28-year-old followed that up with a huge TKO win over former champ Antoni Chmielewski at KSW 41 in December.
Also at KSW 41, we saw 23-year-old Roberto Soldic use his fantastic striking to starch reigning welterweight champion Borys Mankowski – on short-notice no less! Now he will make the first defense of his welterweight title against the man who was originally supposed to fight Mankowski at KSW 41; Dricus Du Plessis, a two-division EFC title-holder. At just 23-years-old and 24-years-old, both welterweight world champions are widely regarded as some of the sport’s best prospects.
Lastly, following two dominant KSW wins in 2017; heavyweight monster Michal “Long” Andryszak has earned a shot at the vacant world title. The 25-year-old is currently riding a six-fight-win-streak, all via first-round stoppage. “Long” has yet to go the distance in twenty wins as a pro.
Opponents for Janikowski and Andryszak will be announced in the coming weeks.
