The welterweight strap is on the line with defending champion Robbie Lawler battling against long time contender Carlos Condit for UFC 195 on January 2nd in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lawler vs Condit is set for UFC 195

The two were originally scheduled to have their welterweight bout on November 14th in Melbourne, Australia headlining UFC 194, however, Lawler pulled out of the fight citing a thumb injury. Almost a week later it was reported the thumb injury was not as severe as originally intended and the bout was re-scheduled for UFC 195.

Lawler recently defended his title in a Fight of the Year candidate against top contender Rory MacDonald at UFC 185, while Condit picked up a TKO victory over Thiago Alves back at UFC Fight Night in May.
