Leon Edwards’ comeback begins on Saturday night, however, he could be fighting an uphill battle before he even makes the walk to the octagon.
Does Leon Edwards have Staph Infection?
The former welterweight king, it appears, will be battling more than just Sean Brady in there on Saturday night. In a number of worrying images seen this week, along with fight fans picking up on something during an interview during fight week, it appears that Edwards has suffered a staph infection.
The Jamaican-born, Birmingham native could have his fight week thrown into turmoil if, in fact, the images are accurate and Edwards isn’t 100%. We know that he is a big welterweight and is someone who cuts a lot of weight to make the 170lbs limit. This could be put in jeopardy if he is in fact suffering from a staph infection.

Further images of Leon Edwards’ training appear to show that in the area where the staph has been apparent previously.
During an interview which took place during fight week, Edwards didn’t appear to be too cautious in covering up his potential staph, wearing a t-shirt and exposing the area where the staph is.
If he does have staph infection, it could lead to his performance being massively hampered. All will be revealed on Saturday night in London’s O2 Arena.
