LFA 127 Results

The LFA championship belts function as revolving doors to A-league promotions, and tonight the middleweights vie for the chance to deepen their resumes. Commerce, California- part of the greater Los Angeles area- hosts the 127th LFA fight card, complete with ten bouts. Stay tuned right here for live LFA 127 results.

Main Event – Ozzy vs. “Brunao”

LFA 127’s main event features a middleweight title bout between California’s Ozzy Diaz vs. Bruno Assis of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Diaz, who trains at California Mixed Martial Arts, just a few miles away from the arena. He will carry the experience of two stoppage wins for Bellator and one for the LFA into his title bout with Assis. Diaz has never gone the distance in seven pro fights, finishing every fight before the third round.

Assis is the much more experienced fighter of the two, entering his eighteenth pro fight. After capturing the Titan FC Middleweight Championship, “Brunao” signed with the LFA and picked up a unanimous decision win over Jalin Fuller last December at LFA 120. Before the Titan FC bout, Assis fought regularly for Brave CF and even against Andre Muniz on the Brazilian edition of Dana White’s Contender Series. Ozzy Diaz will have to give an answer to the fierce grappling of Assis, who holds a judo and BJJ black belt.

Rest of the Card – California Love

Ozzy Diaz’s teammate Chase Gibson goes to work in the co-main event when he fights former LFA title challenger Javier Garcia, who trains at CSW in Fullerton. Both guys are looking to follow up on recent wins in the LFA and likely stake a claim to the featherweight belt, which was recently vacated by a former foe of Garcia in Bruno Souza.

Fan-favorite Tommy Aaron enters the cage again as well, despite multiple opponents falling through. Aaron trains with Tony Ferguson, and borrows heavily from the swag and wild pace of “El Cucuy”. In addition, the first of the Wang-Kim brothers finally enters the LFA when Josh Wang-Kim fights Arnold Jimenez. Josh and his brother John were stars on the amateur MMA scene in California, and now they are both undefeated as pros. The main card kicks off with 19-year-old training partner of LFA Strawweight Champion Jacqueline Amorim, Giovanna Canuto, who takes on Jasmine Pouncy.
