LFA 131 Preview

The Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) is set to return this Friday for LFA 131: Argueta vs. Silva. In the main event, Dan Argueta (7-0) will be facing off against Diego Silva (14-6) for the vacant LFA bantamweight championship. In the co-main event, Tim Hiley (8-3) will be fighting Darrius Flowers (10-5-1) at middleweight. The card is set to take place at the Oshkosh Arena in Wisconsin and will be available for streaming on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

LFA 131 Main Event: Dan Argueta vs. Diego Silva

Friday’s main event will feature a fight between the undefeated American Dan Argueta and the talented Brazilian Diego Silva for the vacant LFA bantamweight championship belt. Argueta is a 28-year-old fighter out of the famed Jackson Wink gym who turned pro in 2019. During his relatively short professional career, he has amassed seven straight victories with six finishes. Argueta was also featured on The Ultimate Fighter Season 29 but ended up losing to the eventual champion Ricky Turcios (10-2) via unanimous decision. Since then Argueta has gone on to beat Rodney Mondala (6-4) and he also handed the previously undefeated Mairon Santos (12-1) his first professional loss. Argueta is undoubtedly one of the brightest prospects and he will hope to prove the doubters wrong by capturing the LFA bantamweight gold this Friday. Standing in his way is the Brazilian fighter Diego Silva. Silva is making his debut with LFA and he is coming in on a two-fight win streak. He has five finishes via submission and two via KO/TKO in his 14 professional wins. Also to note, Silva trains out of the Fusion Xcel Performance Gym, which is the home to the likes of Jacare Souza (26-10), Mike Davis (9-2), Philip Rowe (9-3), and many other talented fighters. This fight will most likely be an absolute war that you do not want to miss.

Co-Main Event: Tim Hiley vs. Darrius Flowers

The co-main event features a bout between Tim Hiley and Darrius Flowers. Hiley, who has previously fought at light heavyweight is dropping down to middleweight for this bout. After going (4-1) as an amateur, Hiley kicked off his professional career with seven straight victories before falling to current UFC middleweight Brendan Allen (18-5) at LFA 50. After dropping the next two fights as well, Hiley was able to rebound with a huge KO/TKO win over Brian Grinnell (12-11) at FCF 62 this past March. Flowers on the other hand is currently on a two-fight win streak, where he most recently finished Daniel Gadley (4-2) back at LFA 130 last month. Flowers is definitely looking to continue his hot streak as he looks to step into the cage for the third time in two months. As of now, Flowers also has a bout scheduled against Tyrone Paige (5-17) in the Dream FC promotion on May 13th. Both fighters are fresh off a victory within the past month and are looking to continue their hot streak this Friday.

Rest of the Card

The rest of LFA 131 is made up of talented fighters that you do not want to miss. Kyrgyzstan’s undefeated Myktybek Orolbay Uulu (6-1) will be facing off against America’s Jalin Fuller (6-1) at welterweight. This may be a very even matchup as both fighters are coming off a win after their first career loss being in the fight beforehand. Uulu has finished all of his opponents in his previous professional wins and most of the finishes came within the first round. Fuller, on the other hand, has also finished all but one of his opponents in his six wins. This fight is unlikely to go the distance as both fighters are known as lightning finishers. The undefeated Roland Dunlap (3-0) will be putting his record up on the line against Hamza Salim (5-4). Dunlap is a 6’3″ middleweight who has not lost since his professional debut back in 2018 and Salim is looking to bounce back after going on a two-fight losing streak against the game Christian Edwards (5-2) and Grant Neal (7-1) in the Bellator promotion. At featherweight, Gary Konkol (4-1) will be fighting against David Evans (4-1). Konkol is a pure finisher as he has a 100% finish rate in his five professional fights, while Evans will look to weather the storm and bounce back from his previous loss against Gauge Young (4-0) back at FAC 12. Also, Austin Letchen (4-0) is set to battle Keegan Gennrich (3-2) at lightweight.

The previously-mentioned fighters and so many others will be featured on this action-packed Friday night that fans will not want to miss. MMASucka will be providing live results along the way.
