LFA 159 Results

Legacy Fighting Alliance has arrived at the CIDE Casa Branca Sports Complex to host LFA 159: Bellato vs. Dos Santos in Caraguatatuba, São Paulo, Brazil. With the absence of UFC this week, LFA looks to carry us to through the weekend with 12 fights on a stacked card full of the best Brazilian prospects this sport has to offer. The night will end in light heavyweight bout were the winner will be declared the interim light heavyweight champion of LFA.

LFA 159: Bellato vs Dos Santos Results

LFA’s interim light heavyweight title will be contested between Rodolfo Bellato (9-2) and Acácio dos Santos (15-5) in tonight’s main event. Bellato moves at incredibly quick pace and has yet to see the third round in his career. He hits quite hard but what really stands out his his jiu jitsu game for the weight class. the BJJ purple belt has 4 submissions all in different techniques thanks to his active guard in bottom position. Bellato is also a Contender Series alum recently losing a rematch against his only prior loss, Vitor Petrino. Bellato knows that a win in this main event can lead to his ultimate goal of being a World Champion. Acácio dos Santos has a humongous frame for light heavyweight and utilizes it well with long, piercing strikes such as straight punches, front kicks and strong knees in the clinch. He showcased those techniques on the Contender Series as well but unfortunately fell short on the scorecards to Anton Turkalj. Now with a full 25 minutes at his disposal, dos Santos is ready to using his veteran experience to make Bellato work harder then ever has before.

The co-main between Anderson Ferreira (17-4) and Junior Luiz (9-4) should be one of the most entertaining matchups tonight. Fighting out Inside Muay Thai in São Paulo, Ferreira is a very decorated kickboxer and muay thai fighter and fights like it too. Ferreira has 13 knockouts in the first round including one in an upset against Milson Castro in his LFA debut earlier this year. Ferreira intends to build on this moment with another highlight knockout against Junior Luiz. Luiz is no stranger to the kickboxing scene himself with 26 wins of his own. He unfortunately found himself on the wrong end of a highlight reel knockout when he lost to Kaynan Kruschewsky in his LFA debut a couple years ago. Ready to put that moment behind, Luiz is ready to pull off the upset this time around in this matchup between two of the most exciting lightweights in all go Brazil.

LFA has plenty of Brazilian prospects making their debut for the promotion such heavy hitting welterweights, Geraldo Neto (16-6) and Argemino Delmandes (15-8). With 26 first round finishes between the two of them, it’s safe to say that they won’t need the judges’ scorecards tonight. Flyweight phenom Luis Rocha (15-1) is also a strong finisher himself and is currently riding a 4 fight finishing streak. Nova União’s Kauã Fernandes (6-0) will attempt to follow in his older brother’s footsteps with his own highlight worthy performance. Opening up the main card will be former Brazilian National Wrestling Team member Hugo Cunha (6-1). Standing at 6 feet 4 inches, Cunha has an excellent frame for heavyweight and is looking to rebound from his first loss in ONE Championship earlier this year. IMMAF World Champion Aieza Bertolso (Debut) will also make her heavily anticipated professional debut after going 16-1 as an amateur fighter.

MMA Sucka will have live coverage for LFA 159: Bellato vs. Dos Santos as it airs live on UFC Fight Pass at 9pm E.T./6pm P.T.
