LFA 198: Miranda vs. Oyarzun Results

LFA returns to the Golden State for its last show of the year, Live from the Commerce Casino for LFA 198: Miranda vs. Oyarzun, with prelims beginning at 5:30 P.M. PT on YouTube and the main card starting at 7:30 on UFC Fight Pass.

Originally a main event that was supposed to feature a unification of the LFA Featherweight Championship between Lerryann Douglass and Elijah Johns, Miranda and Oyarzun’s matchup was bumped to the main event following a COVID diagnosis resulting in Johns withdrawal from the bout.

In what was supposed to be a Lightweight title shot for the man they call “El Machete”, Richie Miranda looks to climb to an impressive 10-1 in home territory as he takes on the LFA debuting Hugo Oyarzun, an 8-3 prospect from Chile.

Miranda, a former division three wrestler for the University of Nebraska-Kearney, is riding a three-fight win streak for LFA, most recently a unanimous win over Maycon Mendonça in August at LFA 190.

On the other hand, Hugo Oyarzun comes into the matchup looking to get back into the win column. Most recently dropping his most recent contest to Marco Antonio Elpidio at Ultimate Warrior Challenge 52 in April of 2024, Oyarzun looks to come in on a week’s notice and make a potentially large splash in what is a new country and promotion for the 32-year-old professional from Chile.
