Malaysian opponent announced for Singapore’s Sherilyn Lim at ONE FC 11

27-year-old Ann “Athena” Osman intends to get her first professional Mixed Martial Arts victory at ONE FC 11 in Singapore, but that task will be easier said than done.

Osman was announced today, via the local Straits Times broadsheet newspaper, as the opponent for Sherilyn Lim, a native of Singapore who, like Osman, will be making her professional MMA debut on October 18th as well.

Malaysian opponent announced for Singapore’s Sherilyn Lim at ONE FC 11

“I’m not expecting a great reception when I walk out, because I know that most of the people there will be rooting for my opponent, ” she said, as quoted from the Straits Times. “I won’t let it affect me. My family and friends will be there and that is all that matters to me.”

Osman trains out of Borneo Tribal Squad; an MMA camp that also houses current ONE FC competitor, AJ “Pyro” Lias Mansor. Despite being almost an unknown commodity, though, “Athena” has had a handful of amateur Muay Thai and MMA contests under her belt.

“It’s a big show and ONE FC is the best MMA organization in Asia, so this is like a dream to me, ” she said. “I’m just training hard and making sure I am in the best possible shape to win this fight.”

Osman vs. Lim will only be the second women’s match-up in the promotion’s history, following Nicole Chua’s encounter with India’s Jeet Toshi at ONE FC 3: War of the Lions.
