‘I’m Out’, UFC Veteran Matt Brown Calls It Quits On MMA

“The Immortal” made his MMA career last.

After 15 years of fighting in the UFC Welterweight division, Matt Brown has decided the time has finally come to step away from it all. On Saturday, Brown took to social media to announce his retirement from MMA.

Matt Brown Bows Out of Competition: “I’m out”

“Not doing it again. I’m out,” Brown wrote on ‘X‘. “That’s the announcement. My life will now be dedicated to serving others. Growing others in the martial arts and building businesses that can help the community and the world. Thanks to @danawhite and @ufc for giving me a platform to express myself and my brand but it is time to move on to bigger, better things!”

Brown, 43, can hang his hat knowing he holds the most knockouts in welterweight history (13) and second-most overall in the promotion, only trailing behind heavyweight KO king Derrick Lewis (14).

Not every fighter can say they left the sport on a high note but Brown did last May with a vintage first-round finish of fellow veteran Court McGee. The Ohio-native fought just about everybody the UFC put in front of him and faced some of the division’s biggest names in Robbie Lawler, Carlos Condit and Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone.

Brown defeated the likes of Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson, Mike Swick, Diego Sanchez and more in a career that spanned all the way from 2005. If that’s not longevity, I don’t know what is.
