Max Holloway steps in for Cody McKenzie to take on Leonard Garcia at UFC 155

Max Holloway (6-1) will step in on less than two weeks notice to take on Leonard Garcia at UFC 155 on December 29.

On Tuesday MMASucka.com announced that Cody McKenzie was forced to withdraw from his fight with Garcia due to a training injury.

UFC officials announced the new match-up on Wednesday.

The 21 year old Hawaiian native lost his UFC debut to Dustin Poirier, however has since won two in a row. A decision win against Pat Schilling and a TKO finish against Justin Lawrence. He looks to make it three in a row against Garcia.

This will be Holloway’s fourth fight in the 2012 calendar year.

Garcia (15-9-1) is coming off of three straight losses, his most recent at the hands of Matt Grice at UFC on FX 3 back in June. Most fighters that lose three in a row usually get their pink slip, however Garcia always puts on a show. His last victory was a controversial decision victory over Nam Phan back in December 2010.
