If you missed Gilbert Melendez vs. Diego Sanchez, you missed a helluva fight between two great fighters.
Round 1 had Melendez in big trouble at the start, as Sanchez tried to sink in a Rear-Naked Choke but to avail. As the round went on, though, Melendez’s elbow developed a deep gash just above the right eye of Sanchez, causing the latter to bleed profusely from that point on. The round ended with both guys just standing and brawling.

Melendez’s Boxing was on point through, as he kept his range well. But Sanchez did well with body kicks as he found success with a couple of those, and he was determined in making the fight an all-out scrap.
As the striking exchanges ensued in the second round, the third frame saw Sanchez land a big barrage of punches that slumped Melendez onto the canvas, but the former’s failed attempt at a Rear-Naked choke allowed Melendez to recover, and they both ended the fight brawling once again.
It was one of the greatest fights ever, with both fighters leaving it all in the cage. There was pandemonium all over the arena.
