Michael Chiesa injured and forced to withdraw from UFC on FOX 5 fight

Michael Chiesa was supposed to fight inside the Octagon for the first time since winning The Ultimate Fighter. Unfortunately he will no longer be fighting in his hometown of Seattle, Washington at UFC on FOX 5, as he has been forced to withdraw due to illness.

UFC officials announced the news late Sunday evening.

Chiesa was expected to take on Marcus Levesseur on the FX portion of the UFC on FOX 5 fight card.

Just days after the Lavar Johnson vs. Brendan Schaub fight was scrapped due to Johnson injuring his groin, this illness occurs. Unfortunately due to the timing no word as to whether Levesseur will ultimately be scrapped from the card as well. If there is no opponent found the UFC on FOX 5 fight card will now be down to 11 fights.
