Michał Oleksiejczuk may have just kept his place on the roster following his performance at UFC 314 last weekend.
Michal Oleksiejczuk Gets Back in Win Column in Explosive Fashion
Entering the Kaseya Center in Miami for the biggest pay-per-view event of the year so far, Michal Oleksiejczuk’s back was firmly against the wall. Riding a three-fight skid, the Pole was in desperate need of a win as he stepped into the cage opposite Sediriques Dumas.
Although his past trio of defeats were all to current and former ranked contenders in Michel Pereira, Kevin Holland and Shara Magomedov, Michal Oleksiejczuk was undoubtedly one more setback away from being handed his walking papers from the company.
Ahead of the most important contest of his UFC tenure, “Hussar” opted to travel clear across the world to train at what is quickly becoming one of the most popular and accredited gyms in the sport, Fighting Nerds. Initially invited to train there by previous adversary Caio Borralho, Michal Oleksiejczuk made the trip out to Brazil in order to prepare for his important match at UFC 314.

The decision paid off in spades for the 30-year old, as Oleksiejczuk dominated Dumas for as long as the bout lasted, lighting up the Floridian with an array of strikes to head and body. Eventually, the European folded Dumas near the halfway point of the first round with a thudding left hook that sent him tumbling to the canvas. A flurry of follow-up shots (ranging from punches to elbows) soon brought an end to the action, handing Oleksiejczuk his first victory in almost two years.

Securing his place in the winner’s circle in stellar fashion, Michal Oleksiejczuk could only speak highly of his trainers who helped prepare him for his big night in Florida, those from his native Poland and South America.
“This performance was the best in my career, because I train with my Polish friends; my coaches from Poland,” Michal Oleksiejczuk began, but I am very grateful for my coaches from Brazil for Fighting Nerds. Caio, Pablo, Paulo Flavio, Dennis, Eric; I love you.”

Noted in his post-fight interview by Joe Rogan, Oleksiejczuk has been a part of the UFC for eight years, and in that time, he has faced some of the top names the middleweight and light heavyweight classes have had to offer. The color commentary staple also lauded him for his continual growth as a fighter during that time, which Michal Oleksiejczuk attributed to his family back home and his new allies in Brazil. He also revealed who he wanted to fight next for his next outing to the Octagon.
“Continue to grow, continue to progress,” Michal Oleksiejczuk said. “I have great family: my brother, my wife, my parents, this is very good people. My second home now is Brazil.
