Former WEC champion Miguel Torres meets Bellator MMA vet Desmond Green in the c0-main event of Titan FC 31 later this month.
Titan FC officials confirmed the fight on Monday.
Miguel Torres vs. Desmond Green co-headlines Titan FC 31
Torres (43-7) was once considered one of the best fighters on the planet, especially in the lighter weight classes. It wasn’t until his 34th fight that he began getting recognition, though. Debuting for World Extreme Cagefighting in Sept. of 2007, Torres would defeat Jeff Bedard before earning a title shot against Chase Beebe. Torres beat Beebe via submission and went on to defend his title three times before losing to Bowles. He joined the UFC as part of their merger with the WEC and wound up getting released in 2012 following a KO loss to Michael McDonald. Since then he is 3-2 with those 3 wins being in regional promotions and the two losses being in WSOF.
Green (11-3) is a very athletic individual known for his wrestling. He is a former Bellator tournament finalist and NEF champion. After losing his Bellator debut to Fabricio Guerreiro, he went on to get 3 wins in a row, including two tournament wins over Mike Richman and Will Martinez. He was cut from the promotion following a submission loss to Daniel Weichel in the finals.
This fight will be the co-main event of the evening, headlined by a lightweight title fight between Mike Ricci and Yoshiyuki Yoshida.
Titan FC takes place on October 31 at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa Bay, Florida.
