MMASucka’s Bellator 209 staff picks

Bellator 209 staff picks are in as we reach the final few weeks of MMASucka’s 2018 competition. The event will take place from the Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv, Israel, the card taking place tomorrow night (Thursday, November 15th). A tape delay for the event will be shown on Paramount Network Friday, November 16th beginning at 9:00pm ET. The event can also be streamed on DAZN.

In the night’s main event, current Bellator featherweight champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire looks to defend his strap for the second time against Milwaukee’s Emmanuel “El Matador” Sanchez. Pitbull lost the featherweight championship back in November of 2015 in a trilogy fight with Daniel Straus. However, in a fourth pairing between the two back in April of 2017, Pitbull regained the belt from Straus with a second-round guillotine choke to put him back on top. His opponent, Sanchez, currently rides a four-fight win streak with two recent submission victories over both Straus and Sam Sicilia.

The co-main event will feature a rematch between Israel’s Haim Gozali and Ryan Couture, son of Randy Couture. In their June 2017 fight, Couture scored a dominate unanimous decision victory over Gozali at Madison Square Garden in New York. Son of Haim, Aviv, will be fighting on the preliminary card. Phil Davis vs. Vadim Nemkov will also take place on the main card.

The WINNER of staff picks will have a chance to receive a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBelts following completion of the 2018 calendar year! The 2017 winner was awarded to Wesley Riddle, compiling a record of 118-74 for main card fights. Staff picks compose of both Bellator and UFC fights taken place on the main card.

Check out our MMASucka staff picks for Bellator 209, as well as our current records throughout the 2018 year.
