MMASucka’s PFL 4 2022 Staff Picks

A new venue is in store for our MMASucka staff picks as the Professional Fighters League returns for the second-half of their Regular Season.

PFL 4 2022 will take place later this evening, June 17 from the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The newly-constructed, basketball-focused facility will feature the promotion’s next three fight cards as PFL also makes its debut in the Peach State. Preliminary card action will begin at 7:00pm ET (4:00pm PT) live on ESPN+ with the main card beginning at 10:00pm ET (7:00pm PT) on both ESPN 2 and ESPN+.

The weekend comes as a double-header for our staff picks with Saturday highlighting our UFC on ESPN 37 picks from Austin, Texas. Stay tuned.

Live results from the entire PFL 4 2022 card will be available here at MMASucka.

The Fights

PFL fighters from the lightweight (155 pounds) and light heavyweight (205 pounds) divisions will battle for points in tonight’s with three fights from each weight class being counted towards staff picks. Among the lightweights sees Clay Collard and Alexander Martinez set to square off in the featured main event. Collard looks to back up his April decision win of Jeremy Stephens with Martinez mirroring the near-same after his decision of Stevie Ray.

Also competing at 155 pounds includes 2021 tournament champion Raush Manfio against Montreal’s Olivier Aubin-Mercier and, opening the main card, a pairing between fan-favorite Jeremy Stephens and Ireland’s Myles Price.

Light heavyweights Antonio Carlos Junior and Bruce Souto will fight in the co-main event. TUF: Brazil season three winner Carlos Junior targets his fifth-straight victory hoping for a season-end second PFL title as underdog Souto looks to rebound after his nine-fight win streak was snapped to Rob Wilkinson in April.

Due to our staff picks configuration, a highly-anticipated pairing between Natan Schulte and Marcin Held will not be counted for our MMASucka staff picks. See further below the six counted matchups at PFL 4 2022.

Staff Picks

Staff picks in 2022 will follow the same set of rules from the 2021 season. Throughout the calendar year, staff picks will be composed of main card fights from both UFC and Bellator events. Main card fights and selected preliminary fights will be included for PFL MMA. Dana White’s Contender Series will be composed of the entire fight card; dates for this promotion’s return are soon-to-be announced.

The WINNER of staff picks in 2022 will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBelts or a chain from Championship Chains. A winner is determined simply by the individual correctly picking the most victorious fighters at the year’s end. Nate Freeman secured his first victory with MMASucka in 2021 with a compiled record 243-136.
