Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen II moved from UFC 147 to UFC 148

The long anticipated rematch between UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen has been officially moved from UFC 147 in Brazil to UFC 148 in Las Vegas.

The reasoning for the move is because of a United Nations conference that has been scheduled for the same date in Brazil as UFC 147. The conference is expected to bring in more than 50,000 people and the crowd for UFC 147 could have tipped at 80,000 could have become insane.

The UFC has decided to move the fight to it’s home base in Las Vegas and UFC 148 will now be headlined by Silva vs. Sonnen II.

The UFC 148 card is as stacked as they come. Along with Silva vs. Sonnen II, Dominick Cruz will defend his bantamweight title in a trilogy fight against Urijah Faber. Also on the card are Rich Franklin vs. Cung Le, Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz and Michael Bisping vs. Tim Boetsch.
