Bibiano Fernandes injured, withdraws from UFC 149 fight

Earlier this month, Bibiano Fernandes signed a contract with the UFC to fight at UFC 149. However, the injury bug has once again claimed a victim and Fernandes has been forced to withdraw from his bout with Roland Delorme.

UFC officials announced  the injury on Monday via their UFC Brasil twitter account.

Bibiano Fernandes fora da luta contra Roland Delorme no #UFC149. Substituto será anunciado em breve

The former DREAM bantamweight champion was expected to make his UFC debut at UFC 149 against Roland Delorme at UFC 149 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on July 21. Now Fernandes will have to wait until later in the year to make his UFC debut.

UFC matchmaker Joe Silva has had his hands full over the past few months and will once again find a great replacement for Delorme. Delorme is expected to stay on the UFC 149 card, however no replacement has been named.
