A back injury has forced Brazilian Cristiano Kaminishi (8-1, 2 NC) to withdraw from a Light Heavyweight bout with Doo Hwan Kim (5-2), in the main card of Rebel Fighting Championship’s inaugural event that’s set for Singapore this weekend.
Injury thwarts Cristiano Kaminishi out of Rebel FC bout with Doo Hwan Kim
“Guys no is more possible my participation in the event Rebel FC in Singapore on 21 December.
Yesterday I decided to talk to the organizers and cancel my fight .
On October 21 the pain in my lower back began to bother , was in Shanghai . I did everything that was possible to get back to training and improvements . I went to physical therapy , did acupuncture, massage , and stretching exercises .
I got back to training but not in good condition . Even so decided to go to Thailand / Phuket where I would get one month finalizing the training for the fight,” Kaminishi posted on Facebook, December 10th.
“On June 6 December my lower back started hurts a lot , I could not train anything! I tried to make a few rounds of boxing but it was very hard , I had to rest on my knees due to severe pain in the lumbar and leg ( sciatica ) .
I Searched for a Chiropractor massage therapist on Friday , did not get better after the session . On Saturday night I felt a lot of pain . On Sunday I was taken to the hospital Vachira Phuket Hospital almost unable to walk or stand. Given me 3 injections of anti – inflammatories and some pills , but the pain did not ease .
Monday I went to another clinic Chiropractic , made 10 min ice , 10 min ultrasound and 10 min of ice until I can go see the doctor . He tried various ways to try to relieve compression of the sciatic nerve but almost no use at all. I went back today Tuesday 10th to a chiropractor , tried again but due to acute pain he did not managed to do anything new , asked me to go to a hospital and make a magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI ) and see for physicians hospital the cause of these pains.
Summarizing a resonance here costs $ 500 U.S. dollars , I already did more than 4 or 5 times in Brazil by the health plan. The result is always the same Herniated Disc L5 – S1 . There are only 11 days to the event in Singapore for sure There is no longer time to rehabilitation , training and weight loss .
I am very sad and frustrated , because a lot of money invested in this training in Thailand , airline ticket , hotel, training, food , supplements , doctors , etc … I did not teach for one month in China in Shanghai , I will not receive the salary and the fight-money of the fight.
I hope everyone to understand and forgive me . I promise to treat my problem now and back in 2014, I promisse be back 100 % hungry for victory !
Kaminishi linked-up with Phuket Top Team ahead of his scheduled match-up with Kim, joining headliner Rob Lisita among many others for his fight camp. But a nagging back injury dating all the way back to June has now prevented the 34-year-old from competing on Saturday’s fight card.
The Brazilian has fought primarily in Japan, for promotions such as DEEP and Heat. He garnered the Heavyweight championship strap in his six-fight stint with Heat, establishing a huge reputation for himself in the process.
With little notice, officials are yet to make a formal announcement on whether a replacement fighter is being sought, or will the 205-lbs bill be scratched from the line-up altogether.
“Into the Lion’s Den” serves as Rebel FC’s inaugural event which will take place on December 21st at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The fight card’s headliner features a 145-lbs bout between Australia’s Rob Lisita (12-5) and Japanese MMA icon, Takeshi Inoue (21-8). Singapore’s own Syafiq Samad (2-0) competes on home turf for the first time as he locks horns with Korean Top Team’s Gyo Pyung Hwang (3-3) at 155-lbs. “TUF: Brazil” alumni Marcos Vinicius (20-5-1) fights for the first time post-UFC in a 135-lbs match-up with Taiyo Nakahara (13-7), while Glenn Sparv (7-2) vs. Alberto Mina (9-0) at Welterweight rounds off the night’s main card.
Prelims, meanwhile, will consist of seven Amateur MMA contests.
